Shoe boxes 2018
OK Operation Christmas Child- Shoebox appeal 2018. Thanks to the generosity of members, friends, the Exercise Class and work colleagues, we were delighted to make up 71 Shoeboxes this year. The response was overwhelming. A team of willing volunteers came along to fill the boxes. The Rotary Club from Derby came to collect them from Church to send off with all the others. We received a Certificate of thanks which is displayed in the Foyer. Many thanks to all involved. It was a superb effort. Chris
Operation Christmas Child- Shoebox Appeal
Sunday 5th November Members and friends of the church, will be collecting equipment to make up the Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is the world's largest children's Christmas project. They are distributed to needy children around the world, and partner with local churches worldwide, to share God's news about the Good News of Jesus Christ. Each child receives a shoebox as an unconditional gift of love, based on need, regardless of their background or religion. The boxes are filled with toys, toiletries, hats, scarves, gloves, note books, crayons, sweets etc. We, at Ripley have made up 43 Shoeboxes. Shoeboxes with our young people. Many thanks to all who have supported this effort. Wouldn't it be lovely to see the children's faces as they open their box?!
